    WW2 RAF DOGTAGS

    Recommended Posts

    Hi All

I recently bought a set of RAF  dog tags named to 150839 Officer E. D SCATCHARD, i believe they are World War 2 in date. I know nothing about researching Royal Air force Personnel',i did  however find some information about him on Ancestry including a photo of him in later life. He was born in 1924 and passed away in 2009' unfortunately i can find nothing on his military career.

I wonder if anybody can help me with any information on the chap,'or point me in the right direction to do my own research. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Graham

Here is a link to the National Archives service records.  https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/royal-air-force-personnel/#7-lists-of-raf-servicemen

There is a guide on their site which is worth reading.  Many of these records have been digitized by MyAncestry.com and similar commercial sites, so you may have to pay to access the complete records, I just don't know.  [I know a little more about the Canadian records, not much about the British ones].

I hope this is some small help.
