Avitas Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Hi, I've heard various opinions on this specific badge. Some say the round R.S. Rudolf Souval badges are all post-war. I've also heard that 1944-45 used the round markings. Any ideas on it?Thanks,Pat
dond Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I think this might be a casting from an original badge. Better pics of the hinge/catch will tell for sure.
Jan Arne S Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Sorry ! I have to agree with Don .The showed GAB by RS dont look like an original one . Post back of mine for compare .Jan Arne
Avitas Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 The hinge looks the same, but the mark is really bad on mine. The pin has been replaced, as well. No chance it could be a late issue?Pat

Avitas Posted April 28, 2006 Author Posted April 28, 2006 Oh well, good thing I didn't pay much for these badges or I would be really angry, but I paid enough! Anyways, I'm sure the rest of my collection (barring the Third Reich badges) will do better. Look for my tinnies and political/civil medals in the coming days and weeks. I also have many British Empire medals and Canadian cap badges. Thanks for the responses on this RS copy!ANy body have any hints on how to distinguish between period die-casts and hand-casts of originals?THanks,Pat
