Mark McM Posted August 19, 2021 Posted August 19, 2021 Hello all, Just acquired this oddball piece. A large size (61 mm) Order of the Thistle badge. It’s nicely done in cast bronze and has significant age. The question is: were they ever done in bronze for any reason?
paul wood Posted August 22, 2021 Posted August 22, 2021 Nice looking piece, I suspect it is a society badge. For example the order of St Andrew is also the badge of the Scots Guards. P
Mark McM Posted August 22, 2021 Author Posted August 22, 2021 Interesting observation Paul. It was acquired with a large collection of WWI British OSD badges. I wondered if it might also be a Black Watch regimental piece.
