    1939 EK1

    Recommended Posts

    Greetings from BC,

Here is my recently purchased EK1, with magnetic core and pin. The frame seems to be brass or some other metal than German silver, as it is yellower. I could be wrong, but I have seen other Iron Cross 1st Classes with the brass frame and magnetic. It is unmarked and I was wondering if anybody knows the maker of this cross? The hinge is like the edge of an old Canadian nickel or a 30-sided beer can, not round but rounded by rectangles (if that makes any sense). It has veining under the paint as well as being three-piece construction.

    Thanks,

    Pat

Thanks guys for your expertise, I do like this cross as it is my first EK1 of any type. Glad to know the maker and that it's a good one, I was pretty sure but it's nice to hear it from another collector.

    Thanks again for your comments,

    Pat

and finally, the Souval in his new home (I don't close the box as I am concerned about the mess on the top half of the box damaging the cross, is this warranted?)

    Thanks for all comments,

    Pat
