Does anyone know what it is? Dimensions 42 X 22 mm, 800 silver.

To me it looks like a brooch with king George V side portrait in the middle and the maltese white crosses on the side..?

(Order of St.John?)

 

Perhaps I am way off, I hope someone more knowledgeable can come in and give a better assessment of this pin/brooch.

Probably made in Germany for a foreign national as they were good at this stuff, that would be my guess

One shouldnt forget ofcourse that the british royal family came from german ancestry, (saxe-coburg-gotha) and in the earlier days festooned themselves in many german orders, so german made stuff was nothing new to them😏
