Kriegsmarine 6. Torpedobootsflotille

Hello,

I have an Urkunde signed by the Korvettenkapit?n and kommander ("Chef") of the 6. Torpedobootsflotille.

Dated 5th of April 1939.

I found these "Flottillenchefs" names:

April 1939 Kvtkpt. Waue

M?rz 1940 Kvtkpt. Marks

Mai 1940 Kptlt. Hartenstein

...but I can't match Waue to the signature.

Anyone got a decent reference book for this?

No, that is indeed a slanting downhill W-a-u-e.

It was his second day in command-- 4 April 1939 to 4 March 1940.

Georg Waue was born in M?nster 1 February 1901. He joined the navy on 1 July 1918. Final rank Konteradmiral zur See 1 March 1945 (German Cross in Gold 12.12.43).

He was shot out of hand by the Yugoslavs after surrendering Fortress Pola on 8 May 1945.
