Prefix difference on GSM for the African Pioneer Corps

Hello all

 

I am want to ask a question about the letter prefix on the GSM issued to the African Pioneer Corps.

 

I have a few with the lettering AS. But I have now just purchased one that had the number prefix of EC.

 

would anyone be able to tell me the difference?

Hi Cazack,

I’m tempted to say

‘Eastern Command’

or

as I believe was sometimes the case,

perhaps it identifies where he is from.

I didn’t find another example or mention.

Ps what does the AS stand for?
