    Hello,

I picked this medal up over the weekend at a local antique shop.  I assume that it is some sort of British shooting competition medal.    What I can't figure out is the abbreviations on the backside that reads: 2nd V.B.A. & S.H. means.  Is anyone familiar with it, and does anyone know when the rank/title "Colonel Seargeant" was used?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi Marcon,

Thank you for your time and effort!  May I ask where you found that information?

    Hi John,

    I typed in google search - 2nd. "vba" .a. & s.h. regiment

Got a hit in tradeshouselibrary.org - records of the Scottish Volunteer Force 1859-1908

    Noticed -  Gordon, Alex., F.S.M., Captain, 3rd V.B. A. & S.H.

Started to read the text until I read this - (see 5th V.B. Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders)

And that's how I did it, took me about 15 minutes.

    Regards, Marcon1.

My Google skills most be lacking because I Googled "V.B.A. & S.H." and came up empty handed.

Thank you again for you the help!
