DavidS Posted Sunday at 13:52 Author Share Posted Sunday at 13:52 Diameter 30.2mm, weight 12.2g. excluding ribbon As determined by O.M.S.A (Orders and Medals Society of America) and referenced in their book; a silver medal with the obverse depicting an orange circular border with smaller circles inside the border, a horse that is jumping, a Buddhist swastika, a flag, two clouds, two blue flowers and a white Mongol tent, and a Mongolian inscription. The reverse also bearing a Mongolian inscription with a small hallmark. It is on a multi coloured ribbon and measures at 31mm in diameter, weighs 14.0 grams including the ribbon. A rare medal for which the history remains unknown, in extremely fine condition. Footnote: All information sourced from page 174 of the Orders and Medals of Japan and Associated States, Third Edition written by James W. Peterson and revised by Barry C. Weaver and Michael A. Quigley of the Orders and Medals Society of America. There is no mention of this medal in Peterson’s 1st Edition.
