Kriegsmarine Frontspange....?

I've recently acquired this Kriegsmarine bronze clasp/frontspange, but am unsure as to its authenticity. The wire clip appears to be 'nonstandard' judging from other images in this forum, but, given this is the only example I have access to, I can't tell if the clasp itself is genuine. Please let me have your comments: one request though, please don't just declare that it's real or fake...tell me why you think that's the case....I'd like to learn from your experience...

So, this has some interesting traits.  I agree with you, the reverse is a different pin and retaining clasp.   However, I do think that this does have a chance of being a period fix.  The Front details seem to be crisp and clear.  I like what I am seeing.  I wouldn't be ashamed to have this in my collection.
