A book was written about him, as he was legend in the South African Special Forces and also received the Honoris Crux award for an act of bravery

Special trophy made for the British SAS visit to South Africa, for Excercise Cape Griffen with the South African Special Forces in 1997

Challenge Coin specially made for the VIP's at the 50th Anniversary of the South African Special Force. Only 50 were made

Here we have the Art Card for the Special Forces Attack Diver badge with the original samples made

 

After completion, they notices that the pins broke off to easy and decided to changed to the solide badges

 

The maroon change to red for Class 1 and the blue was for Class 2

This is the changed Attack Diver badges, as worn by the South African Special Forces Attack Divers

 

Every badge is numbered on the reverse and awarded to the Attack Diver against that number. No numbera was ever the same and records are kept of each number awarded

 

The bronze is the AD1 and the silver the AS2

This is how the badge was numbered, but the style and place for the numbers differs through the years

Please note that all full size Attack Diver badges have 3 pins and the miniatures only 2. Its easy to pickup fakes, but originals are really hard to find

The Gold Class is equavalent to the SA Defence Force Southern Cross Decoration (SD)

 

The Silver Class is equavalent to the SA Defence Force Southern Cross Medal (SM)

 

The Bronze Class is equavalent to the SA Defence Force Military Merit Medal (MMM)

 

The recipient's name, Operator number and the Post-nominal letters of awards received in the SA Defence Force, will appear on the reverse of the award
