It belonged to Pleydell-Bouverie who was commissioned in 1867 and served into the 1890's. I have three sabretaches that belonged to him and this one must be from early in his career. Many thanks, Steven Hi Steven, Roughly speaking, this final style was used second half of 19century, Lancer regs simply said they were to be ‘black leather with regimental device’. Examples I can find use the ‘skull & crossbones’ with no motto or other lettering. Nice group of things to have collected 👍 Especially with the name to accompany them… cheers tony 🍻
