Supernaut Posted Sunday at 05:30 Share Posted Sunday at 05:30 I like it, not easy to display pins & stickpins, I myself have some similar (framed) displays for my pins & stickpins collection (just showing one of these framed displays) Nacho
Cambo Posted Sunday at 09:34 Author Share Posted Sunday at 09:34 Hi Nacho I like your display of HJ knives!! The display of the badges and stickpins looks great as well, what is the material made from? Was it hard to put them on? Or how did you stick them on? Sorry for all the questions, it's to see if It would be better for me to do something similar, Cheers Cameron
Supernaut Posted Sunday at 17:26 Share Posted Sunday at 17:26 Thanks for the comments cameroninglis, it's a normal frame wich I put a cardborad (soft one from a normal carboard box) with a synthetic velvet glued on, so it's easy to stick them into even if they have horizontal needles Nacho
Cambo Posted Sunday at 17:54 Author Share Posted Sunday at 17:54 Nacho, thanks for the reply, thats a good idea, i was thinking maybe a piece of cork might be a good idea, i may buy a sheet and test it out, lol, cheers Cameron
Supernaut Posted Sunday at 17:58 Share Posted Sunday at 17:58 (edited) I have tried cork but is more dense than cardboard and some stickpins have their needles bent when attached, definitively carboard works better for me Nacho Edited Sunday at 17:59 by Supernaut
Cambo Posted Sunday at 18:53 Author Share Posted Sunday at 18:53 Nacho, cheers for the warning, I'll give cork a miss then, it did sound like a good idea, but I'll bow to your experience, cardboards the way to go then I think, when I next buy a new frame, I'll give it a go Cheers Cameron
Cambo Posted Sunday at 19:29 Author Share Posted Sunday at 19:29 Hi Nacho, here's an interesting set of photos, I bought this knife about 40 years a go, I thought it looked like an HJ knife, it has German maker markings on the blade, with a missing diamond in the handle, one could hope, I thought, I'll let you have a look and a think, and then I'll tell you what I found out about it, cheers Cameron . Supernaut Posted Sunday at 19:48 Share Posted Sunday at 19:48 Hi! Seems to me a Post war Scout knihe, known maker Hubertus for been postar production, and postar also scabbard (due to the lip on it) Just curious for what you have to say! Cambo Posted Sunday at 21:27 Author Share Posted Sunday at 21:27 Hi Nacho, I've not got much to add you pretty much nailed it on the head, yes a scout knife I did wonder if they'd used new old stock of blades handles etc from old HJ stock? Cheers Cameron
Supernaut Posted Sunday at 21:38 Share Posted Sunday at 21:38 (edited) I think the same factories begun with making new knifes under new brands for a new marhet (Boy Scouts), Hubertus is the new brand of former HJ Knives maker Kuno Ritter of Solingen Regards Nacho Edited Sunday at 21:39 by Supernaut
