Cambo Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Hi everyone, I've been trying different ways of displaying some of my collection, i have just found this oblong pennant and thought I'd give it a go to display my party badges and stickpins let me know how if it's a good idea or not, cheers Cameron 2
Supernaut Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 I like it, not easy to display pins & stickpins, I myself have some similar (framed) displays for my pins & stickpins collection (just showing one of these framed displays) Nacho
Cambo Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Hi Nacho I like your display of HJ knives!! The display of the badges and stickpins looks great as well, what is the material made from? Was it hard to put them on? Or how did you stick them on? Sorry for all the questions, it's to see if It would be better for me to do something similar, Cheers Cameron
Supernaut Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Thanks for the comments cameroninglis, it's a normal frame wich I put a cardborad (soft one from a normal carboard box) with a synthetic velvet glued on, so it's easy to stick them into even if they have horizontal needles Nacho
Cambo Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Nacho, thanks for the reply, thats a good idea, i was thinking maybe a piece of cork might be a good idea, i may buy a sheet and test it out, lol, cheers Cameron
Supernaut Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 (edited) I have tried cork but is more dense than cardboard and some stickpins have their needles bent when attached, definitively carboard works better for me Nacho Edited June 16, 2024 by Supernaut
Cambo Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Nacho, cheers for the warning, I'll give cork a miss then, it did sound like a good idea, but I'll bow to your experience, cardboards the way to go then I think, when I next buy a new frame, I'll give it a go Cheers Cameron
Cambo Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Hi Nacho, here's an interesting set of photos, I bought this knife about 40 years a go, I thought it looked like an HJ knife, it has German maker markings on the blade, with a missing diamond in the handle, one could hope, I thought, I'll let you have a look and a think, and then I'll tell you what I found out about it, cheers Cameron .
Supernaut Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 Hi! Seems to me a Post war Scout knihe, known maker Hubertus for been postar production, and postar also scabbard (due to the lip on it) Just curious for what you have to say! Nacho
Cambo Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Hi Nacho, I've not got much to add you pretty much nailed it on the head, yes a scout knife I did wonder if they'd used new old stock of blades handles etc from old HJ stock? Cheers Cameron
Supernaut Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 (edited) I think the same factories begun with making new knifes under new brands for a new marhet (Boy Scouts), Hubertus is the new brand of former HJ Knives maker Kuno Ritter of Solingen Regards Nacho Edited June 16, 2024 by Supernaut 1
Cambo Posted June 17, 2024 Author Posted June 17, 2024 Thanks Scowen, nice to to chat to you, Cameron

Scowen Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Hi Cameron, Well, apart from one I'd say these are fine originals.... However, bad news on the Deutschland Erwache I'm afraid. These (& other slogan badges/pins) were made in the 1920's, long before the RZM was created. Even if they were made later, they were not party sanctioned therefore not required to have the RZM markings. These should either have just the Ges.Gesch, or a maker's name/mark & Ges.Gesch. Sorry... Don
Cambo Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 (edited) Hi Don, thanks for making my day (again), lol, I even looked it up and a maker does exist for this number it's 1M/ 73-Karl Erbacher-Pforzheim So the Great British Auction Houses win again 🫣 Edited June 27, 2024 by Cambo
Scowen Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Oh yes, the fakers are sneaky like that, they choose RZM numbers that exisited. Incidentally, a good little reference book on the subject is Stephen Lautens' (known on many forums as sjl) "A collectors guide to the RZM marks of the NSDAP". 3rd edition, published in 2004. It covers things like this... D 1
Supernaut Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Hi Cambo, There are some fine stickpins; congrats for them Nacho 1
--dj--Joe Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 C, You have a good core of period organizational badges to build around. The 25 year Stadtgruppe Neukölln für treue dienst als Kleingärtner badge is one I have not seen before to my recollection. The Deutsche Arbeitsfront Jugend DAFJ is (IMO) not common. Is the blue swas. a Finnish (Finland) pin? Thanks for sharing. --dj--Joe
