Farkas Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Hi Gents, a couple of caps arrived yesterday. Both British/Indian dating 1922-1947 Ive got to say the badges were a little smaller than I expected, I first assumed they must be repurposed collar badges and did not belong but a quick Google shows though they are indeed collar badges they are the ones that were used. 14th Punjab Regiment. 19th King George V Own Hussars Cheers tony 🍻
Farkas Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 A couple more to add while I’m here … A rather chewed 14th Punjab Reg beret. A cap of the ‘Calcutta & Presidency Battalion’ cheers tony 🍻

And actually I got one more I don’t think I’ve posted before… Major H.E. Winthrop served in the British/Indian Army up until partition in 1947, reaching the rank of Brigadier. He served in 14th King Georges Own Ferozepore Sikhs which then became 1st Battalion , 11th Sikh Regiment. I found these 👆 pictures of him and his medals.. Nice to be able to put a face to the name. cheers tony 🍻
TracA Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Tony, Wonderful additions and thread. I agree that it is always nice to be able to put a face to a name. Well done. All the best, Tracy 1
Gordon Craig Posted August 12 Posted August 12 Tony, Nice additions to your collection. A picture always adds a great deal of interest to the medals. Regards, Gordon 1
