pablo Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I try to avoid badges where I can cause Im unlikely to live long enough to learn what I need to know but this Flakkampfabzeichen turned up in a collection and I am keen to learn what I can. I have read various threads which havent added any certainty so I am left with concerns regarding the standard of finish on the reverse, the pin retainer, no rivets on the base of the gun and a big old left claw to name a few. (If I missed something glaringly obvious do share cause I probably need to be told!) PS - I wasted an hour trying to rotate these pictures and had to give up - sorry its annoying. If theres a trick do share - I might learn two things today )
Gordon Craig Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Pablo, Welcome to the GMIC with your first thread. I've rotated the fotos for you but I can not help you with that process. You need to understand the foto program that you are using to be able successfully post pictures on any site. I'm glad to hear that you did some investigation on these badges and would like to know more. Better to gain knowledge before you buy Third Reich militaria. I'm not knowledgeable about these badges as I quit collecting Third Reich militaria many years ago. But I would guess that you have had no other responses as the pictures you have posted appear to be of a poor repro of this badge. I would suggest that you compare it to the link I will post to one of these badges on Lakeside Traders. I usually don't comment on badges that I not held in my hand and I am not saying that the Lakeside Trader badge is good or bad. Just suggesting that you compare the two. https://www.lakesidetrader.com/item.php?ID=36469 Regards, Gordon
ChrisKelly Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Tried to find a few original examples from reliable sources. Hope this helps. fischer Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Here is one from my collection and is made from Neusilber. This variant is the largest of the known Luftwaffe Flak badges and has the typical Gablonz style ball hinge hardware.
