Kleinepanzerfaust Posted November 25 Posted November 25 Hi all ! Party badge signed RZM 4. Karl Gutenkunst. Please give me your opinion. Regards
ChrisKelly Posted December 9 Posted December 9 (edited) Intetesting to have both the RZM and "ges.gesch." on the reverse. I don't think that's common. I've always been told to look out for the distance between the "L" and the "S". The hyphen isn't recessed into the "L" far enough. The lettering on the front looks too "shallow". The border along the swastika is imprecise. Most importantly, the swastika does not extend far enough to the edge of the white circle - the swastika is too small. This NSDAP badge is fake. Good effort though... Looks like a film/costume prop. Edited December 10 by ChrisKelly
--dj--Joe Posted December 11 Posted December 11 I have noted a similar GES. GESCH. RZM 4 marked badge listed as a transitional badge. There were no negative comments about originality. I do not study these badges and look forward to other observations. --dj--Joe
Kleinepanzerfaust Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago Hi ! I understand your doubts. But why make Gesch Gesech, RZM and the number 4 in a movie/theatre prop? What sense would that make? After all, no viewer would see it anyway... Regards
ChrisKelly Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Lots of that material is that way. Sometimes prop managers get lost in the details looking for the most realistic, even if viewers don't pay that close attention to those small details. That is a good looking NSDAP badge. Nonetheless, it's those little details, those small inconsistencies, that make the difference. An old collector/dealer once told me if I ever had even the slightest doubts, "just walk on by".
