buellmeister
Gentlemen, Just picked this little award up today and need your expertise as to it's value and to confirm as to why it was issued. It looks to be a Fireman's 25 year service award. The floor is your's. Many thanks for your help.Regards,Joel

Guest Rick Research
Right about volunteers, but this is the M1884, awarded into World War One.Quite nice, unlike the hideous "rabbit dropping" cast iron lozenges of the post-war peiod.
buellmeister
Rick, The quality and weight of this medal supports your response... Regards,Joel
Daniel Murphy
Joel, That thing is built like a tank! I don't collect Fire related items, but, If I did that would be at the top of the list. Beautiful.Dan Murphy

But "Eagle-Eye Rick" is on the ball as usual. Kevin in Deva.
buellmeister
Kev, no worries my friend. I appreciate the fact that there were different periods that these were made and of different quality when issued. I thank you again for your input.
