MBE case Help please!

Hello Gents,

This has surfaced down under...

An MBE case...

Now i am confused...

I thought that the MBE was a medal...not a breast badge...as apparently this case looks like it held a Breast badge...

I cannot find ANY pics of an MBE breast badge....anywhere...?

Can anyone shed some light on this??

I have an OBE case just like it!

But this MBE one????? its certainly a head scratcher!

The case is for a bow-mounted MBE (i.e., an award to a woman). The pin on the back of the bow fits into the depression.

You made a little mistake, the MBE is a breast badge, the only medal is the BEM, the same letters but just the otherway

Here you have some pictures of both of them

Please note the difference in ribbons

The old ribbons would have been darker, almost purple. Which were the first type awards,

These are pink, so they are more modern.

The MBE is with a civilian ribbon, whereas the BEM is with the military ribbon. Which can be seen by the grey middle stripe, this lacks on the civilian ribbons
