CHRIS W Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Hello, I never seen a Luger magazine like this. It nas no waffenampts. Is it commercial, Swiss, or something else? Thanks for your help.Chris
Daniel Murphy Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 (edited) That is a East German Haenel-Schmeisser magazine. These started being manufactired in the 30's and were used until 1945, but very few guns had these. It is the stongest and best magazine made for the luger. Instead of being made from two pieces of sheet steel and crimpe together on the sides like a regular Luger magazine, this was extruded or made from a seamless steel tube drawn through a die. The best way to identify one of these, even in a gun, is the pin through the base. That base should be aluminum but it looks like it has been chemically darkened. Here is one I found for sale. It has the same marking as yours. If yours had been a WW2 piece it would be worth about $200.EAST GERMAN LUGER BLUED MAGAZINES Blued extruded machined steel body (same as WW2 Haenel), last type siz-zag spring, aluminum bottom piece with center rivet, all have numbers stamped in the bottom, East German stock number (?) "2/1101" stamped in left side at the bottom. Excellent condition. (2100443) $49.99 eachDan Murphy Edited July 3, 2006 by Daniel Murphy
