Hmmm, a possible variation of the Order of the Blue Sky and White Sun?

Although the diamond cut rays are more like the Order of the Brilliant Star.

Either way it's a beautiful (original?) piece.

Check the white enamel - this is the best test...

This piece was offered 7 or 8 years ago by one chinese action house.

No pictures of reverse, but (according to the seller) this piece has number 1 on reverse ;)

Obvisously this is Taiwan decoration and I think brest star above and this piece could be related...

Could you please tell me do you mean the breast star or the medal from post #4?

What is you source of info about this breast star?

If it was indeed "issued to the military attaché" then do you have any info when and in what quantities?

The name of this medal is "民國國民政府武官勛章 / Medal of Military attaché of the Republic of China National Government" (I think). There are six of them :

 

 

I can't remember where and how I got this information, but it was in April 2016.
