SICHERHEITSDIENTS Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Hi alls Recently I purchased this MARINESHULE MÜRWIK cap tally posted here,I have only this pic that came from the auction,I will be posting better pics when I receive the item but my question is:Was used this gothic script in early bundesmarine examples until 1959 as I read it and so How can I see the difference and If mine is KM as I bought it or Bundesmarine.....? Uploaded with ImageShack.us Many thanks in advance
Odulf Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 (edited) There is a difference in the pre and post 1940 tallies, but you should feel them in your hands, the main difference is in the material of the ribbon; pre 1940: thin fine quality gold thread, well woven and hardly any relief, silk and soft (slack supple) ribbon post 1955: thick and stiff quality gold lettering, with a rough touch and much relief, stiff rayon ribbon Edited July 11, 2013 by Odulf
