Actually, I'm going there to see and to learn and to have some nice talks, but if there's something to buy - well, why not. Three ribbon bars was it in total, a matching pair of two and a third one from a second seller - and with these ones, I think I know what the green ribbon has to be - on a RM wearer from Braunschweig: the Brunswick live saving medal as well as the Prussian! The combination is very simliar to Hauptmann von Grone's, but it isn't the same ... The third one is just a nice one with Hohenzollern House order and Austrian Iron crown - not too common on German bars. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And I have never been able to identify my SINGLE Brunswick ? ! But at least now I am ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that that is what my green ribbon is-- same STUPID low position as yours is in.So for that confirmation of where they were worn anyway! As none of those bars has not even one single Baden award on it I think I might give them away again, but not n o w. If someone would like to get these, please offer me something "similar" from Baden ... or, if noone wants to give me some nice Baden stuff - just some money ... Bronze 1920-1934 (120 MADE, but how many were AWARDED?)I would guess that this "Old Style"medal/ribbon bar was made after the war, because it is a tab back, and brass rather than wartime steel. I think here matches a Republik type best as this is the only one which comes on a normal ring. Hang a normal Baden Merit Medal in it and look, where it hangs ... Do you have any numbers for how many were actually awarded? I only have the reference in von Hessenthal & Schreiber about how many of the 1920 type were manufactured.
