Scowen Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Here's something unusual that came in this week.CheersDon
Scowen Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 Reverse unmarked except for the usual on the pin plate.
--dj--Joe Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Don, very nice.William is going to want to see that one.--dj--Joe
Avitas Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Yes, that is an extremely nice badge The construction appears to be very heavy and some intricate detailing there. Where do you keep finding these Don? Cheers,Pat
Scowen Posted September 10, 2006 Author Posted September 10, 2006 Thank you Gentlemen. I forgot to say that it's 27mm across, so a tad larger than a party badge.Joe, I hadn't thought of that, I'll put it up for William on GDC as I don't think he comes here.CheersDon
BURGERHAUS Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Don How on Earth do you find those? Is this badge for a shooting competition or is it from a training facility? Would you know what the wording on the top of the badge means. I found Ehren which means honorary and nadel has a number of meanings none of which have anything to do with shooting. I like the placement of the Hakenkreuz. Not too overpowering but there just the same. A real beauty I have never seen. Bravo!
Scowen Posted September 10, 2006 Author Posted September 10, 2006 Thanks Robert. I've no real idea what it's for, an Ehrennadel is just an honour needle (or pin). I assume it's either for a distinguished member of the Th?ringen D.Sch.V or perhaps a prize in a competition, but I don't know.CheersDon
