Organisational Badges RLB Amtsträgerabzeichen type I

Hi there,

I just picked up this RLB Reichsluftschutzbund member badge yesterday, made by Hoffstatter & Bonn marked Ges.Gesch. I think this is an earlier piece, and it has no RZM mark. Were these commonly marked with RZM's or not? It has really good condition blue enamel, but is missing the fastener. Does anyone else have any RLB member pins to show?

Here's mine for you to compare. The RLB were not a directly controlled NSDAP organisation so not subject to RZM control.

Is my pin broken then? Or is it a different style with a fastener that would attach on the short pin, like modern pins? Any ideas on this?

Pat From my vantage point I would say your example is a stickpin with the pin broken at its weakest point. Someone had to bend it back and forth quite a few times to make that happen I suspect. Robert

Pat, that pin has been cut deliberately, notice the sharp angled edges.

Yes possibly with a crimper. Either way it is a stickpin like Mr. scowen has shown. Robert

Well that's too bad about the stickpin being crimped off, but I still like it anyways Thanks for clarifying that gentlemen and maybe someone else has a full stickpin version to show like mine and Don's here.
