    Gentlemen,

here is a little group of Medals, awarded to Alexander Pavlovitch Chervinsky. I would like to ask for your assistence with the stamps in the Documents.

But first, here is a pic of the complete group. It consists of

    Bravery Medal Nr. 2.040.274

    Military Merit Medal w/o s/n

    (these two in a Medal-book)

Medal for 20 years Victory over Germany with Document

Medal for 30 years Victory over Germany with Document

Medal 30 years Armed Forces with Document

Medal 40 years Armed Forces with Document

Medal 60 years Armed Forces with Dcoument

Isn?t it very likely, that at least his 25 years VoG Jubilee Medal is missing?

For 1946 issued medals, those are in really good shape!

Do you think everybody received the 25 years Victory over Germany Jubilee Medal?

The only thing I always worry about those groups with unumbered CSM, is that one of the previous seller has slip a missing unumbered CSM to the group. We never know if it comes from the group or if it was missing.

But in your case the condition of both CSM and BM are consistent, so I think it is a really nice little group.

I don't know what you want to know on the stamps, but it is interesting that you can see the different variations with the stars and the snowflakes.

Yes, indeed, they are consistent in wear and at least the last seller didn?t add this MMM to the group. I agree with you though, thats a point, i am allways a bit sceptical about too, when i see a unnumbered MMM with document.

I think, eveyone got the 25 years Victory Jubilee Medal. I don?t think, you had to apply for it, right? I hope, another member can clear that up.

I would like to know the names of the Units represented in the stamps. The second one is a numbered unit 30625, like it seems, but i don?t recognize the first one. I will add a scan later, as its not visible very good on the photo...

Thanks for your comment though

Obviously missing whatever WW2 campaign medals there were.

No RANKS on the 1948 and 1958 Jubilees? Those indicate he was on active duty then. There could well have been a separate Orders Book for a 15 years long service Red Star. Without that, hard to judge when his 10 years MMM came up.

Valour Medal awarded in June 1945 since privileges started 1 July.

1948 stamp is 474th Independent (K?nigsberg?) "Order of the Red Star" Radio SPECIAL PURPOSE ("Osobogo Naznachenniye") Battalion ("Divizion"). Commander was an Engineer-Lt Col.

"Special Purpose" usually meant SOMETHING INTERESTING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
