I've been filling in data on Saxons-- that second scan of the 4 bar is a combination that has to be
SV3bX, SA3bX, EK2, SMK because there were NO recipients of an SV3aX with just these ribboned awards--
1 of 11 Leutnants, Oberleutnants, and a medical officer who had this combination. I think they all were dR or dL. Hard to remember scrolling through the entire Saxon officer corps getting down to under a dozen.
Wow, so it may be possible to narrow the field to les than a dozen? Mybe someday we'll find the one man who wore it.

It's the Baden War Merit cross, and I don't know of any rolls, not even roughly numbers ... it was a very common award in WWI for any merit, as we can se from documents. Very different people, civil as military, but no idea how many awards at all.
My Lubeck contribution. I only have this small ribbon bar.

This is a nice bar is really good condition. I especially like the crown device over the swords. This good on a uniform but I've parted with most of my turd reich tunics.
I would trade it for one without the Hindenburg Cross.

Not sure if you're amember over there, but here's a link.

Thanks.

I consider this a not too common ribbon bar. It's in worn condition but still nice. This is most likely an NCO bar for the Silver Medal of the Max Joseph Order.
I would like to think this could be ID'd but this is not s rare combination.

I have three bars that I can find that have the mini EK on the Prussian ribbon. I'm very happy Rick has posted images of this style in wear during the war. Does anyone have photos of this style device in wear during the war?
Second bar, this is another common bar.
Third one for a career NCO. I'm I right?

Hi everybody,
This ribbon bar arrive today. Have a look. Daniel may trace it.
Chrstophe
Nice bar Christophe,
What kingdom, Duchy, etc do you think this man came from? Anhalt?

Oh, only about XX times rarer... I will send you the list, which is COMPLETE for the Silver Merit Cross X but NOT for the GSF3bX.
Man Christophe, your wife can find you these nice bars and I can find one to save me life!!! Whut up wit dat?
I like the swords device. Its amazing to me there were so many devices meant for specific awards. I wonder if these devices were more specific to certain locations or if all shops had a full inventory. I can't imagine most shops would have everything necesary to make any bar on demand. Heck, maybe back then people didn't mind waiting 2,4, even 6 weeks for an item.

Great pic, M...and as rare as hen's teeth!
Couldn't resist blowing it up for a better look-see.
The swastika and date have no paint or were polished. Was this done by the wearer or could these be purcahsed this way?

It's killing me, that no one is claiming it! I realize that not everyone in the world logs into the GMAC everyday, but what a great combination of awards...... Spanish Pilot's Winds, C Certificate, Bomber Spange, Prague castle Bar, Spanish Cross with Swords, Sports Badge, EK1 ...... oh, and the RPB.
Mark
Super photo. His awards indicate he performed his duty well in two wars. Maybe he was transferred to a non flying posting. Would a non flight posting allow him to wear the retired badge? The retired pilot badge is an odd badge to me.

Looks good to me. I had heard KAG was really common, but I went for over a year without seeing one for sale. I finally picked one up, but since then I've seen about 4 or 5 for sale. Wild. I like Kags in both EK1 and EK2. One of the really classic Iron Crosses, along with a few other longtime warriors. I think a big collection of KAGS and KOs would be sweet. My KO is one of my nicest crosses. Steve
Thanks...

Nope, sorry. The screwy devices through everything off. If this was a medal bar and we could see what the awards REALLY are... but this is a DOUBLE "error."
Double error
What device would have been there? Should silver or gilt swords been on it or perhaps nothing? Why is it this way, did he want others to know he received a higher grade or officer grade from Waldeck? This bar is really nice but I'm growing tired of the darn thing.

Here's my small contribution but not for a lack of trying. I know, the crown is an enigma...
Surely mine can be ID'd...

@ ccj: it's the Franz Josef Orden (Kaiserreich ?sterreich-Ungarn)...
take care,
Claudio
Oh, thanks

new EK1 on the way. Opinions
I haven't purshased any in years. i used to buy all the silver marked pin backs I could find then I went to KO issue crosses. This will be my first KAG. I need a few for my tunics.

Rick,
Here is the ribbon bar right below the one above ... you said this might be identifiable.
Mike
The second bar is nice.

Okay, so the regular LS are gold/gilt and the Landwehr crosses are silver with gold center disk.

Quite an ODD combination though-- with ONLY the Baden War Effort Cross and the L?beck. IF the Baden rolls were around, and got done along with the L?beck project... it would be hard to imagine more than two with JUST this pair.
Missing! Missing part of the Roll!
I couldn't even begin to guess "going prices" these days of Gone By Next Week's Online Update. (So much for memory preserved in paper forever) but the latest Official Price Guide I have (2005/06) shows
Bremen ? 65
Hamburg ? 65
and
L?beck ? 55
these "Deutschland Katalog 1800-1945" prices (which dealers charge when the thumbs are on THEIR scales, and ignore when they want/can get more) are nonsense.
Hamburg is common, Bremen scarce, and L?beck what we can nowadays call relatively rare at ROUGHLY 50,000, 20,000 and 8,000 of each, respectively.
So much for Official Price Guides!
I'll take one of each!

The small crown on swords is usually meant to represent a KOX or RAOX, as on this bar:
Thanks, I'm about to search through the ribbon bar device gallery. I wish Rick L would jump back into the ribbon bar article. If he listed 1000 ribbon bars that wouldn't be enough for me...
