Ek1 1870, Full Size & Prinzen By Wagner

    Recommended Posts

    Dear Friends,

I trid to do my home work but I can not make decision for the originality of these.

Normal sized one is J.WAGNER & S, 14 LÖTH and Prinzen size (stepped core) is I.WAGNER&S and 900 punch mark.

I dont feel too good with these but I need someone to convince me.

    I would appreciate any help,

    Jani

The prinzen is fake and I am prett sure the full sized is also.

A Wagner 1870 should have a flat "8" in the date and not the "over-under"

sytle shown. One sould always be wary of Wagner maker marked pieces. I have

seen the "Wagner 14 Loth" mark added to all sorts of crosses.

Thanks, I realized that - and If I understood it correctly there are differences on core and frames of Wagner's from different periods.

I am confused after I tried to figure these out yesterday. Is there original ones with both I. and J. letter?

I have not heard of Wagner using different cores. I would not buy any Wagner marked

1870 unless it was a perfect match to the type A core mentioned in the BDOS artical.
