Some of the WW2 uniforms that were worn by South African forces.

The pith helmet was my grandfather's original issue and many of the badges and insignia on the uniforms were part of my inheritence when he died in 1975.

They were very prominent on the East Rand and were led by former Anglo-Boer War and WW1 Boer commanders like General Van Deventer who died soon after the strike.
