    Cabo, Sargento de 2do grado y Sargento de 1er grado.

    Sub-teniente (Alférez), Teniente y Capitán

    Comandante, Teniente coronel y Coronel

    General de Brigada, General de División y Mayor General

    En el ejercito colonial español los grados eran los siguientes:

    Soldado de 1ª, -- Cabo 2º, -- Cabo 1º. -- Sargento 2º, -- Sargento 1º

    Alférez, -- Teniente 2º, -- Teniente, -- Capitán

    Comandante 2º, -- Comandante, -- Teniente coronel, -- Coronel

    General de Brigada, --General de División, -- Teniente General, -- Capitán General

    Raul Castro during the Revolution wearing "Teniente" ranks:

    This is Comendante rank. Raul became Comendante in 1958, 27 february. Under decrete of Fidel Castro at this day was founded new column which planned to invade in North Oriente and open second war line. Raul was appointed as leader of this column.
