Here are some German bracelets, a British lighter, a brooch (upside down) and something else that I have no idea about.

Hello, Is anyone else here interested in trench art? I know a lot of it can be called kitsch and I sometimes get a funny look when I bring my latest piece of ?art? home but I still like it. I used to own much more than I do now and have sold off some good pieces but, here?s what I have at present. I suppose the football game isn?t really trench art (probably made in factories in the UK for children back home) however, I think it?s great. The bracelets were probably made at a jeweller?s, actually I don?t think the troops would have had much time for creations unless they were in workshops behind the lines somewhere. The chromed letter knife was actually brought home by my wife?s Grandad after the French released him in 1920 or 21. Tony

WW2 Brit DFC Group
Tony replied to Stogieman's topic in Great Britain: Orders, Gallantry, Campaign Medals
The King died in early 1952, the Queen's coronation was about a year later. Summer 1953 I think. Tony -

Rick, Just something I noticed that doesn't make any difference to the grouping; the framing must be post 1952 as the plaque says "by appointment to her Majesty" and the RAF cap has the Queen's crown. Very nice lot though. Tony -
SS uniform
Tony replied to Tony's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
How's it going Eric? Yes that's the one you had a look at a while back and there really is not doubt that everything is original. Looking at that disc you could make one yourself with as many different sized punches as you can find and say but look, that one is original so ....... Tony -

WW1 Group to Lewisham Brothers
Tony replied to deptfordboy's topic in Great Britain: Orders, Gallantry, Campaign Medals
Gilbert, When I joined up it was an any old Tom, Dick and Harry careers office. I was down there having lunch earlier in the year and went in search of the office but couldn't find it. It was on the left hand side of the main road through Blackheath on the way to Lewisham. They did try to talk me into joining the Queens Regiment but I didn't. I received the Queen's fiver there, inflation eh. How about more details on your recent buy and letting us know where you find them. Tony -
Cheers for the ID Gordon and Joe. Joe, have you only 66 variations? I'm catching you up, I think I have about 20 different makers so another 50 and I'll be in front. Tony

So I now own a Wagner! I've never seen one before, are they hard to come by? Tony

Did he enlist at Blackheath too? That's where I enlisted only quite a few years later. Tony -

Hello John, It does doesn't it. If it wasn't for the ribbon suspension bar sticking out at the side you'd think it was almost 60 years old. Tony -

Question on a WW1 trio.
Tony replied to CRBeery's topic in Great Britain: Orders, Gallantry, Campaign Medals
I've only ever seen modern frames for the trio or pair but saying that, I've been in Germany since late 83 and British awards are unfortunately thin on the ground here. Tony -
Don't want to be big headed but wasn't it was the combined French and Spanish fleets. That virtual rum is going down well to both of you. Tony

Gilbet, I'm with Joe. If you thought there wouldn't be any interest, I'll have a pint of what you're on. Tony -

If it's the same person Rick he must have left London before 1901. -
Don, My son wants to visit all the aircraft museums he can so who knows, one day maybe. Tony

Very nice Gordon, now I know who beat me to the little white box. Tony

Question on a WW1 trio.
Tony replied to CRBeery's topic in Great Britain: Orders, Gallantry, Campaign Medals
Well that's a good reason for not finding him there. I've been told he's not in the book 'The Sky Their Battlefield' either which lists casualties from enemy action. Tony -

I've asked elsewhere and have been informed he's not on the Soldier's Died CD either so, the lucky bugger must have survived the war. Tony
