    2. Glenn, quite possible;. I couldn't find anything regarding Landwehr-Infantrie-Regiment 1 and usually we find Landwehr as Lw and Lehr as L abbreviated. Lehr-I.R. also was garrisoned in Königsberg and surroundings. .

    11. The Erkennungsmarke of Hugo Friese. Hugo Friese was born on July 8, 1881 - in 1903 he became school-teacher in the small village of Bösenrode. He retired in 1940. During WWI Friese served with: - Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment 1 - Rekruten-Depot in Pillau (Ostpreussen) - 7. Komp./Grenadier-Regiment Nr.3 - 2. Maschinen-Gewehr-Kompanie, Grenadier-Regiment Nr.3

    13. Jason, Unfortunatly there is nothing left - nobody knows and nobody is interested - over the last decade the family-history was either thrown away or sold piece by piece. .
