    2. whats to stop you buying them seperatly and mounting them?both are pretty easy to pick up and are unnamed?
    3. whats the name and service number on the ww1 trio?nice group!!!
    4. so was doing a clean out of books and found some docs that i hadnt seen in a while!one of them was this ek doc that i got about 10 years ago!its not really may thing any more and well i want to sell it to fund my british collection(and or a new pc!!) so was wondering how much would a doc like this go for? i hate these type of threads but i havent been able to find any for sale to get a idea of the value on these!so any help would be great!!thanks!!!
    5. Cool il see if i can get a set so!thanks again!
    6. thanks for the replies!with the GC i got one very very close match but he had an extra campaign star! paul would where could i get that book on GC winners and whats it name? heres another one! its to a George Medal winner!i bought "Dragons can be defeated" and got a few maybes so have to go back in detail on it! the bar itself looks like the MID was taken off put on the F&G star(you can see where the MID was on the WM!) anyone have any other sources for the GM?
    7. this one is an interesting one!the last ribbon is a US award that is sometimes awarded to british officers but from what i understand on a more unofficial level! so would there be list of officers who got this?again any help would be great!!!
    8. last up is a lovely Victorian ribbon bar that should be to a high ranking officer, iv checked the 1903 Dunbar but again no luck!i suspect though it might be the first row of a set of bars
    9. this one has been posted up before(as was the last one!) and i again i got a very close hit! (he was a doctor who had the military MBE s opposed to the civilian MBE) but no luck!
    10. next up is a just post ww1 that is annoying as iv found one guy who is very very close but not quiet! the Nepalese award at the end should mean there isnt to many who could have this award but a look on the London gazette didnt bring up to many hits!!
    11. this next one really really REALLY annoys me!its to a George Cross winner although its been awarded 406 times only of those 161 were awarded (the others were exchanged for other awards!) now after going through the list on wiki i cant find anyone who comes close!again does anyone know any books maybe that would have a list and bio of awardies?
    12. next up is a bar to a maybe high ranking officers bar again it has the legion of merit commander grade, now its the LACK of awards that to me means i should be able to get an ID but again no luck!its been suggested its a brigadier who helped in ww2 say in the D Day landing due t the F&G star!can anyone suggest any new way to get an ID?
    13. i thought id start a new and hopefully interesting thread!as we all know(or should know!!),is that some German ribbon bars can be ID;ed, interestingly British bars can also be ID;d to!however just like with the German ribbon bars you will always get a ribbon bar that fails to be ID;ed despite having a unique combination of awards!so with that in mind i thought i post some from my collection to see if anyone could maybe get an ID and if other people want to post theres please feel free!who know it might throw some interesting results!!! first up is a really nice bar that HAS to be to a high ranking officer! with the last ribbon being the commander of the legion of merit it narrows it down to 170 people who were awarded that in ww2,then with the CB DSO 2 MIDs and the mons star there should get an ID but so far after after checking WO373 and trying to cross referencing them with officers who served in ww1via ancestry i cant find a match!can anyone suggest another avenue or source?
    14. Heres the full story as it unfolded over at the british medal forum before it hit the media!its sad but youl see more of these for sale as time goes on !
