    1. Indeed Chris, & even if images are printed out, a lot of the modern colour printing inks can fade & disappear after a number of years....
    2. Thanks Joe, even more so when you consider that it is a passport size picture so just over 2 inches high!
    3. Almost two years on from your question Robert & I have finally found one!!!
    4. Thank you Gentleman. Joe, I've never seen any signs of lacquer on any of the pieces that I've picked up. I guess it's probably down to them only being worn for a very short period of time compared to membership badges etc.
    5. Glad that you enjoyed it Joe. Here's a set from Landeck's 1941 Kreisschiessen.... Cheers Don
    6. Welcome to the forum. A very impressive site. I would be interested in seeing what else you have. Thanks for sharing Don
    7. Hi Eric, A very nice piece, especially for $7. Yes I can confirm that the ribbons were the same for both of the above awards. Here is one of my Thüringer medals with ribbon Cheers Don
    8. Hi, I'm sorry that no one has been able to help you. I'm afraid that these are outside of my collecting area as well so am of little help. Don
    9. Hi Eddie, Thank you for the link to your museum, a fabulous collecion indeed.... So many items that I have never seen. Thanks again Don
    10. It's great to finally see what the reverse set up is like, thank you. Thank you also for the pictures of the "unfinished" piece. I see some differences between the eagle & Swaz on these pieces, whilst the Swastika looks more defined on the "unfinished" piece, the eagle's head leaves something to be desired LOL. Thank you again for answering a 25 year old question for me. Don
    11. Excellent informtion Matthew, thank you. I have spent many years wondering about it, glad that I kept the picture now. I look forward to seeing more pictures if you are willing to share them, thank you. And yes, I can see the railroad eagle now that you mention it. Been a goos week for me what with the Gau Baden info as well.... Many thanks again. Don
    12. Matthew, Have you ever seen this badge before, or know anything about it? It was shown on an old forum about 25 years ago, I saved the picture but have never seen another. Unfortunately only the obverse image was shown... The eagle & Swaz look a little crude to me. Don
    13. Matthew, Thank you for the correction & posting the "in wear" picture. Even after all these years it is still good to learn something new. Don
    14. Simon, Thank you for taking a second look, much appreciated. Cheers Don
    15. Thank you Gentlemen for your help with this. I really didn't think anything could be made out from the image as it is so blurred. Just goes to show how little I know about such things. The quality is poor due to that fact that it is a small cropped area from a larger image of boys & their teachers from the school presumably doing cross country running. There is nothing to indicate the date other than these vehicles. For anyone interested here is the full image. Thank you again Don
    16. I know that it is a slim chance, but is there any chance that anyone can id the vehicles in this picture? It was taken outside a UK school sometime in the 1940's or 1950's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Don
    17. Thank you Gentlemen, I must admit that I was surprised to see it & at a price that I really felt that I could not leave it there... D
    18. Very nice! Is yours cased? They usually come with a small case. Here are my 25 & 40 Years. Both are cased but unfortunately I haven't taken a picture of them in their cases yet. Thanks for posting. Don
    19. I picked a membership book for these up for a couple of Euros the other week. I had only ever seen single sheet member cards before (see post #38) so decide to break my rule of only buying Tirol items to get it. The bright light of the scanner has burnt out the colour of the cover which is green. There are 16 pages containing rules & regulations etc. Here are a couple of examples. Cheers Don
    20. Sorry for my late reply, been under the weather lately.... Very nice Robert, a new one for me as well. It reminds me of the "flag day" type badges that we had when I was a lad. People on the street corners shaking their collection cans would clip a simiar type of badge to your pocket or button hole if you gave them a couple of pennies for the cause that they were collectin for. Nice find.
