    1. Nice pins Gentlemen. I've been racking my brain for the last hour or so, & from what I can remember, I only recal ever seeing these made by this maker. Cheers Don
    2. Yes I noticed the change in time frame as well Robert...... Not my idea...... I would guess that you are correct that it would be a leaders badge or an honour badge of some sort. Nice little badge, not seen one before Cheers Don
    3. Excellent news Robert! I shall leave this post intact if you don't mind as it may help others who end up in a similar situation. I hope that this hasn't put you off the hobby & I look forward to seeing more items that you pick up Cheers Don
    4. Very interesting Nick, is there any clue as to it's use? Any glue or gum on the reverse for attaching it to something perhaps? Cheers Don
    5. Welcome aboard! Cheers (The other) Don
    6. Erich, you know a rabbit is for life, not just for Easter..... Lovely pieces, thanks for sharing them with us. Cheers Don
    7. It's no real consolation Robert but it could well be still in the post. I have found that mail sent to the UK from the US takes a lot longer if it needs to be signed for than if not, in some cases it's taken a month (I'm talking airmail not surface). I imagine Europe would be the same. So fingers crossed that it is just a postal delay. Cheers Don
    8. Here with it's ausweis. If you want a better image of the doc it's posted here: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9830
    9. Thought you may be interested in a members badge I recently picked up. These were also available with a red border, but I'm not sure what significance if any this had. Cheers Don
    10. Thanks for your answer, you may well have a good point there. It's strange that I can't find out any info on these organisations. The book by Angolia that covers the NSKK & NSFK mentions the DDAC but makes no reference these. Cheers Don
    11. Detail of the two symbols [attachmentid=47167]
    12. Does anyone here have any info re this/these organisations? I've been aware of the symbol & badges used by these two groups for a number of years. I've always assumed that the version without the Swastika was the earlier organisation & that the Swaz was added at a later date. However, I recently obtained a couple of docs to the same man, the earlier dated Ausweis (1934) for the Reichsverband des Kraftfahrgewerbes has the Swastika..... [attachmentid=47164] Whilst the later 1937 Ausweis for the Reichsverkehrsgruppe Kraftfahrgewerbe doesn't have it. [attachmentid=47165] I would have thought that by 1937 the Reich would have been insisting that the Swastika was on everything rather than being removed or left off. Can anyone shed any light on the history & difference between these organisations & whether there is a reason for this anomaly...... Cheers Don
    13. Thanks Raz. Although I will add, I didn't pay anywhere near to the price he quotes in the guide Cheers Don
    14. Here's an interesting item. The only reference I can find for this is Detlev's tome, page 147. It's a huge badge measuring 2.5 inches in length & nicely made. Anyone else have one or know anything about them? Cheers Don
    15. Found it http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/sho...ight=Oberbayern
    16. I'm afraid I haven't one of these Robert. Although I remember someone on WAF showing one. Have you tried searching their database for KdF or Oberbayern? Cheers Don
    17. Forgot to post the other vase we picked up...... Cheers Don
    18. Sometimes we do just have to work on our gut feeling & take a gamble. Neither of the badges in the last couple of threads are mine, they are all images from the archive I keep for reference & for occasions like this . As I said before, I had doubts about them, but it seems that they are OK, which is great as now I have to find some of these for my collection as well as all the other tirol badges Cheers Don
    19. Here's another shooting badge I was worried about but have also been assured are original..... [attachmentid=46516] [attachmentid=46517]
    20. As you can see, one is marked (unfortunately, I can't read it) & one is not. [attachmentid=46514] [attachmentid=46515]
    21. Robert, I've been through my archive. You mentioned that they were square, but were they similar to these? [attachmentid=46512] [attachmentid=46513] I had my doubts about these but I've now heard back from someone I know who knows just about everything there is to know about hunting, shooting etc in the Third Reich. He believes that these shown here are original & have not yet been faked. Cheers Don
    22. I know the ones you mean, I honestly don't know & have only seem pictures of them, however I have my doubts about them. I know someone who may have more info, I'll try to contact him & see what he thinks. Cheers Don
    23. Very nice Robert. These lapel badges are a lot harder to find than the larger badges. And yes, they can become somewhat addictive Cheers Don
