Yes Joe, I remember that he also had one. Detlev also shows one in his last tome.

Robert,
Unfortunately, I imagine like yourself, I've only familiar with this badge from H?sken's unknown section (Page 364 Tafel 21). I've seen it offered occasionally but never had the opertunity to hold one yet. They appear well made, how does it feel to you? Is it heavy?
Th?ringia seem to have had a habit of issuing service type badges (assuming that they are all original), you may remember this one that I've never really discovered what it was for http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9796 & then there was this one as well http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11006
For what it's worth, I like the look of yours, it's well designed & made.

Joe,
Below are the badges listed in Hüsken as Opferring "Freiheitssbund" der NSDAP.
"a" & "b" are shown in this thread, I also have "d" the Gau Hessen-Nassau. We see "e" quite often but I haven't yet found one for a price I wish to pay. The others I haven't seen offered for sale yet.

I've no idea which, if either, came first.
This last one is the hardest of the pair to find, but if you check your Hüsken you will see there are other designs still that are equally difficult to find.

That's the same type of caliper I use.

The second also came from the same source, & has some imperfections to the obverse with air bubbling in the white enamel causing a couple of pin point sized holes.
Reverse is totally unmarked apart from Ges.Gesch on the pin plate. However the distinct pattern in the pebbling under the red enamel has the same peculiarities as the marked version, so it must have come from the same die.

I've been searching for one of these for years & then like the proverbial number 8 bus two came along together.......
The first one has the wording "Kreis Jena-Stadtroda" & is marked with a manufacturs symbol which has been suggested may be for William Hobacher.....

The one marked Reichsberufwettkampf der Deutscher Jugend isn't exactly a tinnie as such, it's more of a participation badge given to all the entrants of the competition. In later years the participation badges became more elaborate & the winners of the contest were awarded the Kreissieger, Gausieger & Reichssieger badges which I'm sure you've seen, with the eagles holding the DAF cogwheel with the H.J. Diamond on it with the dates 1938, 1939 & 1944.
I'll move your thread to the tinnie section where you will probably get a better response for the other tinnies in the picture.

I've brought these Leipzig fair tinnies together.

Indeed, very interesting, thanks for sharing it.

Thanks Medalnet. I do not know much about this badge, however I would strongly expect to see an RZM mark & number on the reverse.
What do you think Xen?

I've seen some sell for as much as 400 - 500 euro, but the more common ones less.

Nice badge Pete. I can't find out any info on these badges to indicate what they were for. My original thinking was that they were the "event" badge, much like a tinnie. However they come with & without the oak leaf surround, & there's evidence to show that they may well have come in silver as well as gold.... So perhaps not a tinnie type badge after all.
I was sceptical about them but if you check out post #2 you will see that I got 2 of these in with a grouping I purchased sometime ago. Using the documents I obtained the other day, I was able to ascertain that all of the 5 large Meisterschütze badges were indeed awarded to the same man, so it is possible that these 2 were originally part of the grouping & not "thrown in" later.
Is your one magnetic?

Mine's the standard size.

As requested I have transferred all the overtly SA tinnies that I could find from the database thread to here. If I missed any please let me know. Approx 2 pages were added here.....
Looking through that thread there are plenty of other groups that could have their own threads like KdF, DAF, HJ etc which would perhaps make it less cumbersome.

I'm afraid not. So far this is a badge I haven't had time to study.........
However, I would also like to see the reverse please.

I'm afraid IMO it's a fake Swedish tinnie. These should not have this style pin fixing with the little disc attaching it to the badge. The pin should be soldered direct to the back.
Sorry

Robert,
If you track down a '44 badge I will be definitely be able to give you a name if the badge was issued (as with all badges there were spares that were not issued) as I have the names of all 2337 recipients for that year.
The odds of putting a name to a number for the years preceding '44 lessen with each year as the list is less complete, however I'm hoping that sometime in the future I'll have the complete list as I now know what documents I need to look for.

No problem with it at all as far as I'm concerned. Check out the single "pebbles", one under the left crossbar of the "T" in the word Kleing?rtner & also to the left of the "N" next to it, exactly the same as on the one I posted.

Indeed it does. Is it very noticeable in hand? I wouldn't have seen it in the picture without you mentioning it.

For anyone interested I am now able to supply names of many of the recipients of the numbered Gaumeister badges from 1941-1944. I've managed to locate some documents with most of the winners & badges issued for these years, 1944 is complete with the other years less so...... I also have a few details of the 3 year Gaumeister recipients but the list is also not complete.
Below: Gaumeister 1942 #1043 issued to Karl Quoo?, of Bregenz.........
