Thought you may be interested in a members badge I recently picked up. These were also available with a red border, but I'm not sure what significance if any this had.

Thanks for your answer, you may well have a good point there. It's strange that I can't find out any info on these organisations. The book by Angolia that covers the NSKK & NSFK mentions the DDAC but makes no reference these.

Does anyone here have any info re this/these organisations?
I've been aware of the symbol & badges used by these two groups for a number of years. I've always assumed that the version without the Swastika was the earlier organisation & that the Swaz was added at a later date.
However, I recently obtained a couple of docs to the same man, the earlier dated Ausweis (1934) for the Reichsverband des Kraftfahrgewerbes has the Swastika.....
[attachmentid=47164]
Whilst the later 1937 Ausweis for the Reichsverkehrsgruppe Kraftfahrgewerbe doesn't have it.
[attachmentid=47165]
I would have thought that by 1937 the Reich would have been insisting that the Swastika was on everything rather than being removed or left off.
Can anyone shed any light on the history & difference between these organisations & whether there is a reason for this anomaly......

Thanks Raz.
Although I will add, I didn't pay anywhere near to the price he quotes in the guide

Here's an interesting item. The only reference I can find for this is Detlev's tome, page 147. It's a huge badge measuring 2.5 inches in length & nicely made.
Anyone else have one or know anything about them?

I'm afraid I haven't one of these Robert. Although I remember someone on WAF showing one. Have you tried searching their database for KdF or Oberbayern?

Sometimes we do just have to work on our gut feeling & take a gamble.
Neither of the badges in the last couple of threads are mine, they are all images from the archive I keep for reference & for occasions like this
. As I said before, I had doubts about them, but it seems that they are OK, which is great as now I have to find some of these for my collection as well as all the other tirol badges

As you can see, one is marked (unfortunately, I can't read it) & one is not.

Robert, I've been through my archive. You mentioned that they were square, but were they similar to these?
[attachmentid=46512] [attachmentid=46513]
I had my doubts about these but I've now heard back from someone I know who knows just about everything there is to know about hunting, shooting etc in the Third Reich. He believes that these shown here are original & have not yet been faked.

I know the ones you mean, I honestly don't know & have only seem pictures of them, however I have my doubts about them. I know someone who may have more info, I'll try to contact him & see what he thinks.

Very nice Robert. These lapel badges are a lot harder to find than the larger badges. And yes, they can become somewhat addictive

Do you know if the fakers have been at these at a great rate? Thanks Don Robert
I don't believe these have been convincingly attempted yet......
I personally don't like any marked 'A.G. & Co. M?nchen' as a very large number of these suddenly appeared on market in the 1970's. There are only two types of badge marked by this maker, the Master version is suspect because it has a bronze finish and it should be gold. That then causes me to wonder about the other one, so I just keep away from them.

Tell me sir, is the reverse of your example marked the same as mine?
Indeed it is Robert, same maker on the pin plate, & it also has the lines on the badge used as a guide for placing the pin. I don't seem to have a scan of it for some reason, if I get time over the weekend I'll dig the badge out & scan it.

Are you sure it's black enamel & not just the colour of the base metal where the silver has worn off?
Here's my silver KK-G '43

these badges have been extremely well copied and I personally would leave the miniature version well alone - - unless of course it came with cast iron provenance.
Intersting thread this - - thanks to all contributors
Very true on both points

Hello
Why do you say that - - - HJ Potsdam looks good to my eyes !!
A poor/tired example maybe.
Dan
Hi Dan,
I was looking on the reverse, to the right of the pin, looks like casting pitting too me. Also I can't explain the the "blob" on the front. Could be wrong thou', only an opinion.

I forgot to post this 1932 tinnie that I believe is a fake, it was part of my "early purchases" from the dealer that ALL of my fake stuff came from. Pat
Another dodgy one I'd say I'm afraid.
