    1. Jup, that is the 1st thing that jumps out, but there are 4-5 errors. The same guy used to do EK2 docs to the same regt. I had Mailed the seller and he cancelled the auction.
    2. Hi Stormrider, the one wit the Bulgarian one mounted first is very interesting!!
    3. Strangely enough the cammo is not old stock... apparently the new has the drown printed over the green, the old had the green printed over the brown... or the other way around... or something like that....
    4. For example... maybe they have photo records? Check out how this gentlemen wears his medals https://www.ebay.de/itm/Ausweis-Urkunde-des-Ordens-der-Bayer-Tapferkeitsmedaille/122816688934?hash=item1c9871f326:g:AvkAAOSwVP1aEWsj
    5. Thanks to Fritz I have one of these as well now... what is very apparent is that these have exactly the petals of the German Austrian Alpenverein one. I am thinking the same factory, and on some they put the 6 pollen thingies with the initials for the Alpenverein on and on some they had the 6 pollen thingies without the initials... maybe made specially so for the Alpenkorps?
    7. Waldo, you make me Sabber! Do you know if there is any research possibility for researching WW1 recipients through the former association of winners? I mean over and above what is in the regular archive records. I would like to know about postwar occupation, possible photos etc?
    8. I was surprised to see the ZIM army wears a version of the Rhodesian Cammo, I had always thought that they had banned that from the country...
    9. I was lucky enough to pick up these prewar green slip ons which Chip informed my are for the Greatcoat, and were worn in the field like this until at least 1915. Put alongside the earlier ones, I wonder if the ones with metal 2s were also for a greatcoat? From the size they could be greatcoat, but they are sew ins....
    10. I think this is one...... https://www.ebay.de/itm/Ring-fur-Flugzeugfuhrer-original-1-WK-800-Silber-aus-Nachlass-100-Original/382294067965?hash=item5902808afd:g:lLUAAOSwAHBaDtWU
    11. I like bars like that, pre veteran associaion awards, pre ehrenkreuz.
    12. Not really Freikorps.... but kinda on the border.... a nice card though....
    13. This is a nice one methinks... I am not sure what model that cockade is....
    14. I could go with that description, it has more of what I consider to be a turn of the century kind of construction as opposed to the more industrial construction I associate with the outbreak of the war.
    15. Hi, thanks, that confirms the style. I think mine is unfortunately not an issue version as pictured, or maybe just a bit older, but for me the origin of the piece makes it a great piece for me :-)
    16. Hi, A friend is doing a project and has a letter with the following Pencil remark,,, Besten Dank XXXX Gruß XXXXXXXXXXX Bitte um Rucksendung... Can anyone fill in the XXXXXs
    17. Hi Christian, Thanks for the clarification! All the best Chris
    18. HI, I think he is wearing 3 rings, maybe hust for the photo. On the pinkie it seems to be a regular band ring, then one with the prussian pilots badge, I cannot identify the other one but possibly just a patriotic one? For some reason I doubt he was a pilot?
    19. Hi, before I finally file this away... From the dates top right, I assume he was born 1893, and joined in 1914 Dae bottom left, the award was made on the 24 11 1917 He was 3rd Kaiserjäger regt Can anyone hazard a guess as to his rank? Thanks Chris And although the 3rd Kaiserjäger were part of the 8th Infantry division, renamed kaiserjäger Division, they were (According to wikipedia) fighting very closely with the 3rd (edelweiss) division at the end of 1917, which would explain why the award was made by the edelweiss division
    20. I wonder if the Erel hats are really exactly the same or made for reenactor quality?
    21. Hi, thanks for the info. IMHO the Epp badge is a classic, one of the nicest sleeve insignia I know of. Were there badges with different color piping? Best Chris
    22. Hi, nice card. My guess is a machine gunner, maybe in a Jäger Battalion?
    23. Sometimes you see something and wonder how the price reached that level.... https://www.ebay.de/itm/PORTRAIT-FOTO-JAGER-TSCHAKO-1-JAGER-BATAILLON-034-FREISING-034-Feldgrau-TOP-/372123213444?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=E85epdlv41MvkjXnAquob1gqkME%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc A beautiful photo... but EUR70 beautiful??
