    2. the handwriting is terrible, and I am not sure if there is anything relevant to the occasion....
    3. Here is a very interesting one of a soldier visiting his brothers grave... putting on his EK2 for the occasion..
    4. Hi, I was reading an article somewhere about descisions of French military courts in the 1900... some of the cases were pretty heavy. Guy took a few drinks from the officers mess... landed up in a disciplinary battalion for 5 years etc. etc. Best Chris

    11. There may be more out there, but these are the variations I have found to date. Best Chris
    12. Yes folks, the EK2 is fake, but it is just to give you an idea about the size of these docs... They also did commemorative documents... For those who were fighting on the souville nose an Verdun.... (See here for a brief article about the fighting... http://www.kaiserscross.com/60401/134122.html )
    13. Waaaaaaaay less well known is their Iron Cross 1st class document....
    14. The R.I.R. 81 had in its ranks a man named Wilhelm Lefebre. Old Willy sure could draw! It also had quite a budget when it came to printing documents for the men.... Well known is their Iron Cross 2nd class document.... It is in most books...
    15. A whooooole bunch of stuff up today... http://www.kaiserscross.com/152301.html
    16. Back then a source of pride... I am sure the recipients would roll over in their graves if they saw the bargain bins of crosses at shows today... I used to me "anti maker mark" collecting, but at least it has given a certain value to EK2s.... On the back of this postcard a man of the 108th Schutzen Regiment proudly announces he has just been awarded the EK...
    17. All from the same series, a picture of the crownprince on the back so maybe for the 5th Armee although it does not specify...
