    3. Hi, HWK in December 1915..... I can think of better places to spend Christmas..... ;-) Best Chris
    4. Hi, Is it Serret? Here are some documents to men who died on the HWK... http://www.kaiserscross.com/40047/41321.html
    5. Hi, I think they must have been collected in France and North Africa. If it WAS a German POW he could well have been in Morocco in captivity.... but that would make the "Anzac" on the buckle difficult to explain...
    6. Dang, could have sworn i had one to that unit as well.... Guess I must have had yours in my head. best Chris
    7. Anything possible I suppose... These are from a "Civvie" source, so I suppose a wartime transfer? We need a Hauptmann of the 9th Bavarian Inf Regt who transfered from the 19th? Best Chris
    8. Little respect for his doc.... seems to have used it for a trench map....
    9. Because I am such a tease ;-) Tammy possible?
    10. Just picked this up today... Unfortunately the bastard sons of the Bavarian J?gers the 1st Reserve J?gers were not in the Alpenkorps... At this stage they were with the 5th bavarian Reserve Division, May 1915 was the schlacht at La Bassee/Arras, the 5th BRD was at Carency_Souchez when the French attacked, the division lost heavily, the J?gers lost 13 officers and 750 men. I assume Schumacher was one of the lucky ones.... Maybe wounded, at least still alive at that time....
    11. The guy we are interested in made it from Gefreiter to Leutnant d L. in less than a year and a half. Got the EK1 as Gefreiter on the Somme
    12. Here is a link to the contents..... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3463...mp;#entry325069 Maybe it was in the possession of the German POW, but I seem to think it was an Anzac soldiers hate belt that fell into his hands....
    13. I bought this today, the seller assured me they were from the family of a German captured serving with the Turks...
    14. At the risk of flogging a dead horse... 2nd one... already at EUR143... http://cgi.ebay.fr/Livre-la-medaille-colon...%3A1|240%3A1318 Thats reference for you....
    15. 5) Walter Arp Drivers School, Or Wyatt Earp........ I smell a plot of Robert Ludlum proportions here !!!!
    16. I always thought "Ritter" of the Iron Cross was used by families who sent in death notices.... this 1918 newspaper has all EK guys with the title, and sent like that from the units...
    17. Hi, Can anyone help identifying some of these... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3463...mp;#entry325069
    18. If anyone can identify any of the more obscure ones in that lot.....
    19. Anzac Marseilles Sailley Wallon Cappelle Estaires Rue de Bouis Fleur XXXX Somme Outerstein Tel el Kebir Heliopolis Cairo Ismalia Toussoune Port XXXX Serapeon Lemnos Are roughly chipped in with a pin or something sjhrp. The seller said it was from a German POW.. I argued more likely an Australian or Kiwi soldier.... From the bits of green, I would say these were all until recently on a belt.....
