    1. Nice 8-place ribbon bar, might be identifiable, 152-Euro
    2. There seems to be a real cottage industry coming up with these “sets”. Between the EK ones, flight badge ones and now this. I don’t know where they’re all coming from but I do know that as long as people keep buying, they will keep coming! Again, our hobby has become a minefield. I’ve so restricted my focus because of this!
    3. The multi-part construction of the badge is pretty interesting. Looks like a frame, with the stamped badge attached. I’ve had multiple of these over the years but never seen this type before. One would think that examples would have surfaced before this one. Has anyone seen this before??
    4. @Graf, Good Morning! Very nice example! Thanks for sharing!
    5. I’m not sure who/when this set was assembled. I found it interesting and thought it worth sharing and discussing. Ran through US eBay, final bid was $485. The devices added to the mountings are curious. The attributed name is: Graf Franz Eitel Wilhelm von Salm Horslinar? I seriously doubt that any officer with that name didn’t receive other awards but this is what there is. Comments?? Thoughts?? Anyone know that name??
    6. I don’t think this is legit, opening bid was 585-Euro. If it was real it should have gone for stupid money. The quality of the copies is getting downright scary. I’ve only seen one real one, which I believe was posted in my Traveling Circus thread
    7. Back in the day it was relatively easy to find a good cased 1914 EK2. Most of these were private purchases. My understanding is the cross itself was issued in a paper wrap. I had a multitude of examples of this, the wrap was often maker marked. Inner paper and usually a blue paper outer wrap. You can still find cased EK2s, but they’ve become scarce and you have to sift through all the fake cases flooding the market these days.
    8. Amongst the usual array of spectacular pieces I found this little piece. Never seen one before which always makes me a bit nervous. Quality seems there, currently at 320-Euro . Photos courtesy of Andreas Thies
    9. Good Morning Chet! The mounting is unusual but not without precedent. I prefer furled ribbons myself!
    10. Agreed Vince! And based on the pin/hinge I would pass on the piece. Just doesn’t look consistent with a quality, private purchase item!
    11. Thanks for the help in understanding!! I see your point. Thank you!
    12. Never received a logical response to my initial question here or in the Austrian Forum. Someone wanted the bar pretty bad though!
    13. Good Morning! This star is on eBay.de now. Allegedly a private purchase piece made in Paris. Quality looks very good except I think the hinge for the pin looks very clutzy and inconsistent with the rest of the piece. Opinions, comments , rude remarks??
    14. Agreed!! A collector forum and relative news. I think a loss for the community and I wish Carsten only the best in his retirement.
    15. Good Morning, I had communication with Carsten back in December and he let me know they would be closing and he was retiring. He stated the political climate in Germany as a contributing factor. There will be an updated version of his opus book on flight badges and that he will continue to collect but the shop will close.
    16. This nice little bar sold through US eBay to an offer, asking was only $300!USD
    17. Yeah, I know, it’s Austrian, but still one beautiful piece. Asking 700-Euro, no bids. Seems high for a bronze-gilt one
    18. I’m sorry I don’t have any experience with this piece, just with the RKs. I do know there are excellent copies of this cross floating around. Try a search as there was another thread on this piece recently.
    19. I’m putting this one here, second case like this to run through German eBay. Looks brand new. Asking was 990-Euro, sold to an offer. Last one was allegedly an Albert Officer’s Cross, this one too but stated “swords am ring”
