Here is my other Heer Cap eagle, very similar to the first posted one, but a thicker swaz and three pins. Made of aluminum as well, with a Heer wreath made of aluminum and a cockade that I believe might be a naval cockade judging by the colour (see other topic on this forum). Any ideas on these Heer uniform items are great. Cheers, Pat

Hi again, I will use this post for displaying and hopefully returning feedback on my wound badges and other TR General Awards as I purchase and receive them, so keep checking for new stuff! I'm sure to get some great info on my collection. To start off I have an early stamped wound badge in black, made of tombak I believe. The bottom catch has been bent, but other than that I think it is a nice early badge. Any ideas on the maker and originality? Thanks, Pat

Hello from Canada, I will use this post to post my various Heer Equipment, Uniforms, and Insignia as I get them. I hope you wil enjoy the items and give me some advice and opinions on the various items. First up, the Heer Belt Buckle. It is a very nice piece I believe and I am pretty sure it is a good one, but as always, your opinions and ideas on makers etc are encouraged. Thanks, Pat

Oktober 1 Medal 1938

Hi there, Another medal from the general awards category, my Sudetenland occupation medal (Oktober 1 1938 Medal). It is one of the earlier pieces I purchased, and I believe one of the few original pieces I received from a certain dealer. It is very crisp and the ribbon bar is a no-glow. I don't think there are many fakes of this around, but it would feel good to have an opinion or two on it. Are there many different makers or variations on this medal? I know I am full of questions, but hey, isn't that what we're here for? Thanks again Pat

Hello, Here is my recently acquired Ostmedaille Winterschlacht 1941/42 medal. It has almost all of the original finish and the ribbon is nice as well. This medal was probably handed out to more widows and mothers posthumously than any other medal of WW2, which adds to the eeriness of the hindsight of the medal. Just wondering about the makers of this award, as well as any opinions on its originality, it looks good to me and I got it from a very respectable dealer so I am pretty confident in it. Are there any variations of this medal? or were they all made in the same general time and place? Thanks, Pat

Italy-Germany Medal

Hi folks, I picked up this Germany-Italy medal for the Afrika Korps and am very happy with it. The Afrika Korps is a fabled group and most items from it are way too expensive for collector's like me, so I am pleased to get one of these. I am confident it is an original but I would like your opinions on it just to have another set of eyes on it. Thanks again Pat

Hi all, I have a German Mother's Cross in Gold I would like to put on the forum. It is in great shape and maintains most of its original finish. I am pretty certain it is a good one but I have had some bad luck with TR badges so any opinion on this is welcome, as well as if anybody knows the specific type or maker of this Mutterkreuz in Gold. Thanks, Pat

Any help on this subject is welcome, despite the ominous piece of cast iron that is the subject. I really can't find much info on this type of bust, the closest I can come to is that it might have been meant for a plaque or to be mounted on something but was either never finished or damaged. Thanks, Pat

Good info Michael, I didn't realize there were only two Canadian regiments in British 8th. It does appear that the Africa Star was an add-on and that would explain the ribbon bar. I will post the back of the ribbon bar (with the replacement CVSM mini I have draped over the original bar that is missing the medal, but has the ribbon, shame) with the maker mark Spinks from I believe Toronto. Any info on the maker is welcome. Thanks, Pat

Soviet Order of Patriotic War
Avitas replied to Avitas's topic in Russia: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Thanks for the replies, and if I could bother you for another question or two that would be excellent. I was wondering how to go about tracking these serial numbered Russian medals, and hopefully get a good starting point to go on. Any help in this endeavor would be welcome. Pat -
Soviet Unknown Russian Medal
Avitas replied to Avitas's topic in Russia: Soviet Orders, Medals & Decorations
Thanks for the info, I have several more Soviet Service medals with all sorts of Missiles and Planes and Workers on them, very cool looking medals. I will post them on my next day off. Any idea how old my labour medal is? or is it impossible to tell. Thanks again, Pat
