    1. Ulsterman, thank you for your reply. Was your neighbors example on a stickpin? --dj--Joe
    2. Peter, you are certainly correct that a ribbon could have been there at one time. I looked through my items and noted a Sangerbund stickpin with a ribbon attached to the pin, nothing to stop it from tilting from side to side though. I do not recall ever having seen a set up quite like this. --dj--Joe
    3. Greetings Peter, Thank you for the reply. My stick pin reverse is the same as your #V. I can see no way to sturdily affix a ribbon and have it remain in place. No sign of glue or wear to the reverse. It was an interesting piece, so I thought why not! Something to research. --dj--Joe
    4. Gents, would the swords on this stick pin be recognizable to a specific award? Or a generic German WWI silver variety? [attachmentid=54291] Thanks for looking and for any and all assistance. --dj--Joe
    5. Sir, I believe the Gent. at the following site still has his available. --dj--Joe http://members.aol.com/verkuilen/militar1.htm It is listed at this link. http://members.aol.com/verkuilen/bg_vets.htm
    6. Nice addition to your collection. Thanks for showing the FAD buckle. Another on my extensive wish list. --dj--Joe
    7. Onward with a different maker mark. [attachmentid=54190][attachmentid=54189] Don, if and when you should desire to use this for your excellent section on differing maker marks I will give a go at providing a sharper image. I did see a gilt version at a show, however being out of funds I did not inquire. The dealer knew it was not often seen. What would be the value of a gilt example should it hapen to be there next year? Thanks for looking and commenting on the odds and ends I have posted. My sincere thanks to all who contribute. --dj--Joe
    8. Rick, FireMedals, thank you both. Now that you have shown me the second type badge my aged memory tells me I have seen these somewhere before, long ago. --dj--Joe
    9. FireMedals, Gerd, I wish to thank you both, I appreciate the information very much. --dj--Joe
    10. Thank you. I had just begun to search for the Fire award, so far with no luck. Was the full size award a pin back badge or was it in medalion form? So much to learn. I see there is at least one book on German Fire awards. Regards, Joseph
    11. Thought to share my latest. [attachmentid=54090] I have enjoyed so much that has been posted here I wish to share what I can. --dj--Joe
    12. With Don's help, thank you Don for looking this up for me. Reichsvereinigung ehemaliger Kriegsgefangener. - REK. [attachmentid=54088][attachmentid=54089] Reichs association of former POW's. In my quick glance at the book if I viewed correctly this is a 2nd. of three styles. --dj--Joe
    13. My example marked BSW in a clover leaf. [attachmentid=54039] Could the maker mark in question above, posts 23 & 24, be BSW with the tail of the emblem hidden under the pin plate? --dj--Joe
    14. Have had this example since the early 60's. for what little that is worth. The reverse font is more elongated than the two above. It shows more wear than the scanner is displaying. [attachmentid=53817][attachmentid=53818] Comments welcome. --dj--Joe
    15. Robert, congratulations on locating such an interesting piece. My thanks for sharing it and all the other items you have shown. --dj--Joe
    16. Tinnie located. (Aluminum). [attachmentid=53158][attachmentid=53157] It could be they forgot the I all together or the die misstamped. --dj--Joe
    17. I am in posession of a tinnie marked, REDO SAARLOU (misstrike) S. Once located I will post it. --dj--Joe
    18. I appreciate being allowed to view such a well presented collection. Very nicely done! --dj--Joe
    19. 1934 dated version of, DDAC badge. [attachmentid=52830] [attachmentid=52831] Reverse unmarked. --dj--Joe
    20. I believe this falls under the sympathizer pin category. Obverse. [attachmentid=52824] --dj--Joe
    21. I like it! My example., celuloid. [attachmentid=52560][attachmentid=52561] --dj--Joe
    22. There are also variations to the eagles head in regards to above or below the inner rope border. Does it still hold true that the above the border variety is only found with the runic and the mobil 45 degree swas.? I for one would appreciate seeing the many different variations of SA buckles posted. I have a mobil example with the head below, but the silver has been pretty much polished away. What is considered the rarest style? --dj--Joe
