    1. Yes, I know, you didn´t tell that. I told that. Happy New Year, and... Bansai!
    2. They have no prize. That´s what I am saying. They hadn´t no prize when they came and won´t it when they will go. That is what makes me think, they had some value. Yes, japanese dealers like to send some extra gifts, I have room full of matsu´s paper cranes, but I can´t just imagine seller with 10.000 sells how he demolish one photoalbum after another to spread unwanted gifts. In any part of my info I didn´t want to say "hey, I have photo, it is the key!!!", I just wanted to add another mosaic to your analysis, which will be based on more reliable features of medal (and box) and which - in final result - can approve photos as being theoretically fitting, or dismiss them as a priceless trash. PS: I don´t think 60-70´s is precise dating. I deduced it from style of the photo, style of formal suits and coats and finally (in one photo) from interior which is typical 60´s - 70´s product.
    3. Thanks Danny, in fact it looks even better. Those photos were made to highlight the details for better identification. This new photo tells more about the real look of the cross. Regards
    4. As I said, it can be tricky, I am aware of that. Just wanted to present whole circumstances under which I received this medal (btw announced as late 30´s piece). Anyway, I think it would be more suspicious, if the man on the photo was dressed like soldier and if this fact was presented when auction was running to raise the prize of the set. But tell me the motivation of sending the photos of civilian which are not even announced in the auction. Just that japanese love to send the gifts? Maybe. Cheers
    5. Yes, agree with you, it is not unusual. Anyway, it is very decent repair, so I see no problem in it. Thanks for helping me to enjoy this piece with confidence.
    6. I purchased this 7th Rising Sun with two photos of man, civilian, possibly previous holder of the award. Photos are from 60-70´s, and guy is there still in productive age (both photos are from his work, looks like he was running some company). It can be tricky, (although I ask why, those photos were not offered in auction to raise the price, they just came silently with the box), but if these are real holder photos, the period 1910 - 1936 is OK, but as closer to year 1936 as possible. Regards
    7. Thanks for reply. You are right with that tool mark, I inspected it under 30x magnifying glass with LED light, and it is totally amorphous coincidental damage. On the other hand, the same glass showed me some soldering around the small ring. You can see it on the reverse side. It is very decent work, nearly unseen with naked eye. Only strong zoom and flashlight of camera (or glass) makes it visible. But, interestingly, small ring stood open on the reverse. So maybe it was not resoldering of ring, just strengthening of cracked frame above the beading rim.
    8. Hello gentlemen, This is my first fullsize EK2 1870, so I would be very happy to hear your opinions. It is slightly twisted, core slightly shakes in the frame, but condition is very fine and edges are smoothly finished. I still don´t know if the triangular mark which you see on the ring, is marker´s mark or just some lately received damage. But as I know, original A cores were not marked. Thanks in advance
    9. No problem, man, hunting continues. What else can we pray...
    10. In this phase it means I will do nothing bad when I buy first buttonhole device I meet. Button rosette is quite easier to find. Miro
    11. Thanks, Dieter. I like also the fact, that it looks to be personalised by handwriting kanji on the carton box. Maybe someone will appear here who will be able to translate it. (I don´t even know which side is up, hehe) Miro
    12. Nice one. Is it in offer? Miro
    13. Thanks for info, mainly for the name of association. Yes, it is very nice set, I am very happy with that. Miro
    14. Kanji inside the balsa box and something like document that was inside.
    15. Hello gentlemen, I bought this beauty at the end of summer. I was very busy that time so I hadn´t space to torture seller with additional info, as I always use to do. All I know is that it is medal of some woman association, awarded for their support during Russo-Japanese war. Every additional info (mainly the name of that association and number issued) would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance
    16. Dark brown case (although it doesn´t look like brown on my photo)
    17. Hello, I have M marked 7th Rising Sun. It came in dark brown case without buttonhole device. I would like to know two things: - does the dark brown case belong to the same era as M marked medal, in other words, is it correct case? - what is correct device for this set? Rosette or bow ribbon? Thanks in advance
