    1. Hellenistic Sarcophagus depict cavalry engaging the enemy. Found in the coastal city of Ashqelon in Israel.
    2. Do the photos must be ones which were taken especially for the competition or could we submit photos that we already published elsewhere on the net?
    3. An 1939 EKII from my collection photographed over a German WWII document.
    4. This might account for the difference: since the got the badge as a part of a UN lot I think it's may be a modern badge worn by the present day Jordanian army (as best as I recall the Jordanian army involved in allot of UN missions). I think that the badge on "Historama" is from the period in which the Arab Legion existed.
    5. It's indeed look like the coat of arms of the Arab Legion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Legion
    6. They are awarded since 1954 for combat wounds which left the soldier a permanent disability of at least 25%.
    7. Israeli wound badge
    8. Yes it's does look nicer... any idea why two kinds of medals were issues and what the difference between them?
    9. Thanks for your replay, speedytop! my question about the 20 years medal was because the reverse is blank and I remember that I saw that on the reverse their should be some writing. is this another difference between the Medaille and the Ehrenmedaille?
    10. Here are couple of new purchases, the 20 years to the founding of the DDR medal (or is it the badge?) and the NVA sport badge (in gold? or is it the usual color of all those badges?)
    11. I was offered what seem to be a civilian patriotic badge from WWI, could anyone give me the value of this badge?
    12. It's actually a badge of "Banki" (Hebrew initials that stand for "The Israeli Communist Youth Alliance") the youth movement of the Israeli Communist Party.
    13. It's maybe just me but the front of the medal seem to need a bit of cleaning up.
