    1. You mean for this medal in Osaka? Any total figures available? Any other makers?
    2. Don't forget to say something about the price- and delivery conditions
    3. Pieter, That's ok for me, for sure! BTW, if you have further information (documents, pictures, etc.) about Kato Takaaki, please feel free to contact me via pm. BR, Chris
    4. Gents, Today, I’d like to share my latest acquisition with you. My shortly arrived set of “Japanese Capital Rehabilitation Commemoration medal”, incl. the medal itself, the case and the medal wrapping paper. In my opinion, a nice catch with the Osaka Mint "M" hallmark on top of the knob. Now, I’m looking for the award document to complete this set Any offers are welcome BR, Chris
    5. Pieter, Due to my PhD, I got often in touch with Kato. Would you mind to share your treasures/his decorations and documents? Thanks in advance and br, Chris
    6. No, unfortuntely, I'm just dreamful...! Maybe better luck next time. Who knows, if this item will show up again...?
    7. Hi Gents, Nice item - cased "Crown Prince Voyage to Korea Commemorative Medal"! Did somebody watched this auction? Maybe the winner is here and like to share better pictures? ...BTW, "nice" investment for 280k JPY. BR, Chris
    8. Sure, it's always a risk to be disappointed as seller - or be a lucky guy. It depends on, which guys are looking for what item. For example, I sold some an Imperial German award a second time. First time, starting price 150 Euro - no bidders. Three weeks later, same item, sold for 500 Euro Nice extra money for wife's Christmas present
    9. I wouldn't mind to use a replaced ribbon
    10. Ah, the "Spanish" Medal... So, my guess was right about the replaced ribbon... BR, Chris
    11. ...but not with a starting price (compare) $4,500
    12. http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f110662833 Seems like there are no big spenders outside?
    13. Ah, don't worry! I would be take no. 1 and no. 3 from you
    14. Well, it's not a question of (mis-)trusting. But talking about a repaired one could have a big effect on any price negotiation. That's not to be sneezed at, isn't it? PS: Thanks for your reminder. In your case, I would maken an exeception with my principle and would start step by step: 1. the medal, 2. the case, 3. the award documen t
    15. Nick, What do you think about the medal, which you posted in #46/#47? Any repaired medal? Have a look at the suspension. Looks like some (old?) tin-"marks"... BR, Chris
    16. Well, I guess it's always a question of supply and demand! The market calls for items - somebody satisfy their demand...!
    17. @ Fukuoka: Thanks a lot! Can you recommend any kanji lexicon for (Japanese) family names? Nelson and/or Hadamitzky lexica are not working well engough. And even my old kougo jiten doesn't help me a lot then it comes to names... BR, Chris
    18. That would mean, no production / minting of any above mentioned medals in Taisho area? Even not for memento reasons in the (let's say) 1920s? BR, Chris
    19. Thanks for posting the images, Nick! Talking about the name, as of now, I have several options: 1. URUSHIYAMA Akira 2. URUSHITANI or CHILGOK (Korean name) 3. URUSHI Aki In this context, any recommendation for any good kanji lexicon, which is (only) refering to Japanese names? BR from not so desperate Chris
