    10. Hi Erik, Thank you for that information. Than this most be our man:
    11. Hi Peter, Thanks for your reply. Erik thinks that it is a police officer because of the second medal ( Mobilisation Cross 1914-1918 ) . This medal was available to Police also. The other decorations are civil, like you would expect from an Police officer.
    12. I have in my collection a Cart de Visite with a photo of a Dutch Generaal-Majoor. Below the photo is in handwriting the name F.J. Beckman Gen. Maj. The first letters appear to be F. J. but are hard to read. On the back is says Bois-le-Duc 1875 ( Bois-Le-Duc is the Dutch city 's-Hertogenbosch ) I will post a scan later on, does someone have more info about this person and his military service?
    13. Thank you Erik for that information. I found a number of recipients of the Order of the Crown of Siam and of the Black star of Benin in a newspaper archive. But wasn't able to find a match. http://kranten.kb.nl/index2.html Do you have any idea how to procede? Do you know any other newspaper archives?
    14. Very interesting information about these police officers. Thanks for posting this. where police officers from places like Den Haag and Rotterdam also so heavily awarded with foreign awards? I can not find any info about the visit from Siam. I can't even find a correct date. I'm now trying to find newspaper archives from that time periode.

    20. I would also like to mention the name of the two Dutch soldiers that died in the helicopter crash of 26 july. The didn't die by enemy contact but they deserve to be mentioned here because of there service for peace! Luitenant-kolonel mr. Jan van Twist (47) from the airforce and Sergeant Bart van Boxtel (29) from the army.
    21. Very nice, Rick is correct. "Ridder in de Orde van Oranje-Nassau met de zwaarden". The grade is Knight.
    22. Yes, I bought it on Marktplaats for a sharp price. Does anyone have an opinion about my idea about the owner and timeframe?
