    1. I really shouldn't be complaining, if I knew it was going to go that high, I would have went higher also. It was that great of a MG studio photo. I'll know better next time......Chris!!!!!
    2. I'm looking and bidding on the ones everybody with more money than me wants also. A MG studio photo I went up to 25 pound sterling on yesterday went for over 50 pounds. Maybe I should be collecting cook and clerks memorabilia. It was probably Chris......................... I was just outbid on another, regular post card group photo non MG that went for over 25 pounds.
    3. go for really high prices. 20 to over 50 pound sterling. (I really need a smilie to express my thoughts about this)?????????????????????????
    4. I came across a top shield section while surfing the net, $900.00 was the asking price.
    5. Bullshit and Brilliance comes with Age and Experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)
    6. Not always so...............I grew up with a girl that always wore a red neck scarf, always. One day I asked her why she always wore a red headscarf and she said she'd tell me when we got into grade school, so every year in grade school I asked her why she always wore a red neck scarf and she always said she'd tell me when we got to the next grade. Finally in the 8th grade I asked her again and she said she'd tell me when we got to High School. We got into High School and I asked her again, why did she always wear that little red head scarf and she said she'd tell me when we got into College. The day came, we went off to college together and I asked her again, why did she always wear that little red neck scarf and again, she put me off by saying on graduation day. That day came and I asked once again and she said not until we get married. That day came and on our wedding night, I asked her again and she said, not tonight, I have a headache. So years and years went by and on her death bed with me, her children and grandchildren around her bed, I asked her one last time, why did she wear that little red head scarf and she said, OK, I'll show you why and she reached up with her shaking feeble old fingers and un-tied that little red headscarf and as she took it away her head fell off!!!!! The moral of this story is, looks decieve. ;)
    7. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!! 800Euros!!!!! I'm much friendlier to my mates than that....for sure, especially if they have something that I want. I was wondering, what good is having a MG-08 without any drag straps?????? ;)
    8. Thanks for the info. I'll keep in mind when I come across a box full. :)
    9. That's why I hope I can find three, after all, he has a matching MG bayonet to trade for and.................he's not controlling my use of 'smilies'. And then maybe there is Chip??????
    10. What, if any, kind of identification marks would they have, in case I come across one, two, three or more that I could share or trade with my good friends here who have none?
    11. Instead of asking who has one and is about to die, I'll just put out a blanket request for all to remember me in their Will? :)
    12. Chris, did you know those stocks alone can go for $600-$1500?
    13. I forget names, faces, places and reasons but I have never forgot how!!!! How often do drag straps come available?
    14. Didn't know you had curtain climbers around still. I thought you were as old as me, neutered and shooting blanks without the fear of child support........anymore. I do lock up my Lugers when I'm away from the house and when lady friends stops by, in case two stop by at the same time , but other than then, they are behind glass. Still a shame though since it has its same numbered stock. I guess sending you a MG unit marked Luger for Christmas is now out of the question???? I'll send you a photo of it instead. Ed
    15. Could it not had been re-bored? Shame such a piece to be de-activated.
    16. During WWII, over 51,000 of the over 425,000 prisoners of war held in the United States were Italian. (ASF WD Monthly Progress Reports, sec. 11, Administration. Copy in Lewis, Prisoner of War Utilization, pp. 90-91). Of these, about 7,000 Italians and 8,000 Germans were sent to Utah (POW population lists (NARA RG389 Entry (A1) 458, Boxes 1444-1446). After the war, the personnel files of all POWs were returned to the country for which they fought. The only remaining information for Italian POWs in our National Archives are one-line entries (for most) in a roster list from 31 March 1945 (see POW CD). Some of their interview sheets remain here (National Archives Record Administration), as well as some references in camp newsletters (state or college archives, usually). For Germans, the roster lists remaining here only show name and POW number. To obtain personnel files for former Italian POWs, please write to: Ten. Col. Fasullo Ministero della Difesa via Mattia Battistini, 113, 7 Piano 00167 Roma Italy I also suggest that you write to his local military tribunal office (for his town of birth) to acquire his complete military record (with a gap from his capture to his re-patriation). For each of the above, you'll need to send a letter of authorization along with a copy of your ID to show relationship. To obtain personnel files for former German POWs, please write to: Deutsche Dienstelle (WASt) Postfach 51 06 57 D-13400 Berlin Germany. Hope the above helps....................... Ed
