    2. Hey Alex, models too for me (at the momment! (lol)). One can be seen at gmic.co.uk/topic/68863-trains/ I'll ad some more later.
    3. Also the way I collect. But I do have a theme and that is "adventure"! That way it allows me to collect many different things, going (or related to!) from boats, trains, planes, cars and militaria....;-)
    4. Love the box to! Here I am with, not the best pic, but it shows the vault.
    5. John Baddeley is at Bonhams now. It was quiet exiting, taking part of the show for once. At a certain stage when I past the first selection, they put you with other people who were selected in a separate space. My neighbours had some quiet nice militaria with them, I wanted to propose a swap, but then again tought it might be "not done"! (lol!!)
    6. Hey Peter, genuine scrimshaw is rather rare to find over here. The faux however flood the market all over the world. And like you said they generaly copy ivory. Never saw copied bone scrimshaw. I was pretty sure it was allright, my maine concern being the signature. But I am no authority in that field (or any other field ;-) ), so I went, two weeks, ago to the shooting of the antiques road show in London and it was approved by a expert from Bonhams.
    7. quote I assume yours has no markings to identify any possible makers end quote Where can a makers mark be found? I'll try to make a pic to show the vault.
    8. Found out it is genuine. It might come on tele one of these days.... cheers |<ris
    9. Hey Alex, love your medals too! I think I posted the breast badge here, I'll try to find it. It is dammaged !... Here it is.
    10. Correct. If you have no story coming with the coat; I am afraid you will never know.
    11. I am good in that case! I got myself a replamcement ribbon, but never used it, it is just laying next to the original fragile one. And the Commemorative Medal of the 1914–1917 African Campaigns is displayed without a ribbon.
    12. Not at all! I like your input.
    13. Thanks Peter! I'll pas it on too.
    14. Found in a house clearence. A pic of the 100 last days of the 1929 contingent of the 152 th "red Devil's ", the n°1 regiment of France since the revolution.
    15. Very nice indeed!
    16. I know the periode ain't right, but they look nice together!
    17. Hello, I see you got some pictures here! At first sight it doesn't inspire me much. But beter details could help. The blade, and different sights of the handle. cheers |<ris
    18. Hello, we can give it a try, but with pictures it would be quiet handy. ;-)
    19. Being marked on the side is a good start. But better detail pic's would do better. cheers |<ris
    20. Thanks Jerry! I'll pass it on.
    21. Seeing the button I would more be tended to speak of a servant / butlers froc to a aristocratic familly...
    22. probably a question for Peter... Or does anyone else have a idea about this helmet? Thanks for your time.
