To me it belongs to a carnival order.
I have to leave now, but I'll try to find a example later on today or tomorrow.

I have a quiet similar thing in my collection, that will puzzle me till the end of my days.
Well similar..... the only similarity is that a headdress also had a fold newspaper behind the sweatband, .....that speaks in a certain way.....
Here is the story; from the same house clearing in Antwerp, came a German officers pickelhaube and a named British War Medal for WWI given to a Belgian lady agent.
The newspaper is Dutch and one of the articles on the page treats about a spy story going on in Antwerp.......
I didn't do the house clearing my self, and don't know the exact provenance, so no way to speak to any witness....

I am in the need of the ribbon to this medal.
Where can I try to get the ribbon?
Couldn't help you! But the French have rather similar ribbons.

I managed to solve one part of the enigma!
The guy is a lieutenant colonel of the Garde Civique.
Only need to find his name.

Still trying to identify the chap, so any help is welcome.
It seems to me the buttons look like Garde Civique...
The medal he wears is a long service medal for administrative services.
The bust is signed by Frantz Vermeylen and dated 1887.

That particular fire engine is a quiet rare model from that collection.
I must say those cars have a kind of fantasy look, not really copy's of any existing type.

Just got these in.
Sadly not in its original box, but the box they are in seems a time piece made especially to hold the boy's "treasure"!
Part of the wirschafstwunder, made by Schuko in US zone........and sold by a notorious toy shop in Brussels and Antwerp, I remember my grandfather who hated it when it came from that shop, ....because the guy collaborated during the war. ....according to him... ;-)

Stuka - your particular post - in Flemish - could only be dealt with by your authorities.
...... Best wishes Mervyn
Hey Mervin,
yes of course! That wasn't the reason I posted!
Just mentioned the fact I have the PS, if needed for... any purpose.

US Army buttons
in United States of America
Posted
Hard to tell, when not marked!
I had die's of US buttons that have been made in Antwerp, just after the war.
They can be made anywhere in the world! The two rounds next to the loop, revels a rather modern technique of manufacture.
