my first name is Kris! Sorry for that.

Officially Kristiaan; the name I use now when registering on any other new forum in other languages then English.

I taught continuing using my pseudo stukaf (in different forms!) on the Enlgish fora, the place where I started, in a time a pseudo different from your name was recommended....

I for one find it very difficult to remember who is who on fora, when they start changing theyr name and or avatar, so I stick to stukaf, if you don't mind.But i generally end my posts with "|<ris".

For the globe ; yes it needs some attention, and it will be given in time. Just need to find some old students I went to class with when studying restoration works. Need one of the paper departement! (lol!)

The one I used to have is worse, so say my son! His mother from who I divorced, managed to "clean" the whole globe.....to a white globe, sponging it every day of the year with a sponge, water and ammoniac!

You are about right with the 80 £, that is what I payed for it, but I would have gone gladly for more, because I had to have it.

Last time I saw one was at 200€, but didn't had the money ......., many years ago.

A nice globe but a bit controversial, in a way!

Don't want to start a political or racial discussion, that is why I didn't put it in the title!!

It is just what it is!

Dating from the late 19 th century, it as little characteristic heads of the different races on their corresponding continent.

Next to the Caucasian head it says "...mend to civilize the world"....

The little extra to this one (that i just recently acquired!) is that it is a Flemish one, I only have seen 3 in my life. The other two where French, one of them was mine as well but fell in to the wrong camp when I divorced, years ago.

Here is a late 19 th century private forester's uniform (got the trousers too!) who was in service for the family Borluut-Kervijn.

Even when working in the "rallie" area he would still wore this uniform with the family crest buttons.

Here is a die for the making of the "rallie Ardennes", still looking for the button!

Can't comment on this; .......had quiet some aristocrats for clients....;-)

Also a little bit military related, we all at to go; when enlisted....

Not sure these items were to be found at the garrison barber shop ....

He needn't wait for an old relative, I'd take on the task on, if I were in the area. I'm old, bold and he wouldn't have to attend the funeral. I might not sure I'd share the finds however, provided I survived.

Hey Mervin,

the people in a vénerie or at least the owners of the vénerie; mostly were aristocrats, but nothing to do with their coat of arms.

The vénerie was usually related to the geographic place of the hunting grounds.

Reminds me I have got a collection of leather stitching machines some were....

French & Belgian hunts associations are called "vénerie" could not seem to find a proper English translation to the word.

Anyway not military related however it involves also tactics, uniforms and lots of shooting....

Her are my new arrival of "vénerie" buttons, bought during a auction in the open during a special hunting celebration in the French departement Maine et Loire.

A great idea!

Vite fait ce soir, trois lanternes françaises, une belge et une allemande.

La plus grosse: lanterne de bifurcation des chemins de fer du Nord (France)

celle du fond à gauche: Lanterne de signal des chemins de fer de l'Etat (France)

celle du fond à droite: Lanterne de signal des chemins de fer du Nord dite Lantigue (France)

Celle avec des marques en croix rouge et blanches: lanterne de signal d'aiguille des chemins de fer allemands (allemagne de l'est)

La grosse de dos: lanterne de locomotive des chemins de fer Belges.

Soldiers and trains have a certain bound, so I tought I would show you some of my WE car boot finds;

I am very pleased with my find and I couldn't resist to show my enthusiasm!
